Most of the folks are probably running some version of Windows. You must log in or sign up to reply here. Any other cards are not seen because the drivers are not available for Linux. There must be something different about them! For me, 9 out of 10 reboots the card reader does get recognized so I haven’t gotten into the deep end, yet

I don’t have an E, so I can’t guarantee that this should be marked solved, but it probably should. It will not work using the latest Kernel either.
Nvidia Geforce Driver SD worked fine for me after a re-install of xp. Checking Google for PC reader on Dell laptops–there are a lot of posts, but I didn’t see any solutions. I always use the SD card reader.

I would suggest that you try another SD card, just to see if the card that you are trying is bad or not. The Sandisk that is not recognized will read out if plugged into a USB port via an adapter. Not recognised now whether plugging in on boot-up or added afterwards. This seems to be a problem with the OS software drivers?

E6400 Driver for SD Card Reader (Windows XP)
In my experience the only difference I notice after an upgrade is that things stop working – I don’t think I’ve controlle seen any improvement. Similar Threads – E Driver Card. I have the same problem since a recent “upgrade”.
