Mark Millar calls “Father’s Day” the best episode from the latest TV season of Doctor Who. The story’s author, Paul Cornell, will not only talk about how he landed the job, but he will accompany a special screening of the episode with an author’s documentary, taking you behind the scenes on how a script becomes reality. As Just 1 Page’s Ade Brown sums it up, “From the opening colossal close up shot of Moore as he introduces himself, to the psychoactive effects of the art that accompanies his words as the camera swoops around his comic pages, to the concepts of magic that he expands upon; mind your head.” SUNDAY 20/11 12:00 NOON MEET MARK MILLAR Mark has written many of the best-selling comics of the last few years in the United States and has, for five years running, been the best-selling British comicbook writer working in America. As well as being one of the key architects of Marvel’s Ultimate Universe, he is currently working on no less than two superhero screenplays and the screen adaption of his Chosen graphic novel. He also has a new Marvel project entitled 1968. Now what’s all that about? 1.30 CAN ROCK AND ROLL SAVE THE WORLD Author Ian Shirley is bring music clips, comics clips and possibly an entire movie on a crossover subject The Sunday Times described by saying, “For everybody who ever wanted to be a superhero AND in a band.” From the absurd to the obscure and all points inbetween... 2.15 THE ROCK & ROLL LIFE AND DEATH OF TODD LOREN Unauthorised And Proud Of It is a movie which examines the life and death of San Diego publisher Todd Loren who spearheaded unauthorised comicbook biographies of rock, pop and rap stars. Starting with Guns 'N' Roses in 1989 he was soon getting sued by New Kids On The Block and locking horns with the American comicbook establishment. Loren was murdered in 1992 and with interviews with friends, colleagues and adversaries director Ilko Davidov explores this fascinating story. 3.30 MARVEL COMICS 2006 A superb lineup of creators reveal their plans for the future of Marvel Comics.
